JKCA president suspended after Apex Council passes resolution by 8-0 majority

 Srinagar, June 26 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has suspended its president, Javid Ahmed Kitab, with immediate effect after the Apex Council approved a resolution by an 8-0 majority through circulation, according to an official notification.

 
The notification said the resolution was circulated among eligible members of the Apex Council under Rule 23(i) of the JKCA Constitution. Since the matter pertained to the conduct and suspension of the president, the resolution was not circulated to Kitab.
 
Instead, it was sent to the remaining nine members of the Apex Council. Eight members approved the resolution, while one member did not communicate a decision.
 
"Accordingly, the Resolution stands duly passed by a majority of 8:0 in terms of Rule 23(i) read with Rule 48(6) of the Constitution of JKCA," the notification said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
It said that, in terms of the resolution, Kitab stood suspended with immediate effect.
 
The notification further said the resolution would have the same force and effect as one passed at a duly convened meeting of the Apex Council and would be placed before its next meeting for ratification in accordance with the Association's Constitution.
 
The JKCA also directed all its officers, employees, affiliated units and functionaries to take consequential steps for implementing the resolution with immediate effect in accordance with the Constitution.(KNS).
