Srinagar, Jan 29 (KNS): Governor N.N. Vohra in exercise of his powers as President of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages has accorded approval to publication of special issues of Academy’s literary journal ‘Sheeraza’ on late Mufti Mohammed Sayeed. Approval to this effect was received by the Academy Thursday.
Giving details Secretary Academy, Dr. Aziz Hajini said that the Academy has received formal approval to this effect.
“Having obtained necessary approval to our proposal, efforts are afoot to bring out English and Urdu special issues of Sheeraza on late Mufti Mohammed Sayeed,” Hajini said, adding, “persons who have had close association with the late chief minister shall be requested to write for these publications which are aimed at highlighting various facets of life and times of the late chief minister”.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The soon to be brought out publications shall also have rare and historical photographs of the late leader showcasing various aspects of his life.
Pertinently, the Academy also intends to publish special numbers of Kashmiri edition of its literary journal ‘Sheeraza’ on some other prominent personalities of the State who passed away recently.
“We intend to bring out special issues of Kashmiri Sheeraza on such eminent personalities as Prof. Abdul Rashid Nazki, Ghulam Nabi Naazir and Makhan Lal Kanwal, all of whom passed away recently,” Hajini informed, adding, “his proposal to this effect has been consented to by the Governor”. (KNS)
