Srinagar, Feb 02 (KNS): An international theatre festival, dubbed ‘Bharat Rang Mahotsav’, will be held in winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir from February 3rd to February 8th, offering top entertainment for people of the region, Dr. Aziz Hajini, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages said Tuesday.
According to him, renowned theatre personalities from America, Italy, Sri Lanka, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Kashmir and Jammu are taking part in the festival, which is organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages with support from the National School of Drama.
“The festival will afford opportunities of interaction to theatre artists and lovers who are coming from across the globe,” Hajini informed.

“After the inaugural, formal performances shall begin,” Hajini said, adding, every performance will be followed by a seminar during which various aspects of the performances will be discussed.
Interestingly, after re-opening of Tagore Hall, Srinagar and Abhinav Theatre, Jammu cultural and literary activities especially those in the field of theatre have witnessed an upswing.
“Our aim is to revive the traditional culture of broad-based engagement so that the cultural ethos of the State finds appropriate resonance,” Dr. Hajini said. (KNS)
