Bijbehara, May 19 (KNS): Promising broadbasing of cultural activities, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Dr. Aziz Hajini Thursday said that as a premier cultural institution Academy has been giving due space and representation to every segment of the society and literary events like today’s were part of such endeavours.
“Poetry has the capacity to act as a link between various sub cultures of the State. Thatis the reason why we routinely organise poetic symposia so as to afford opportunities of expression and interaction to versifiers of every shade,” Hajini said.
He said this while addressing participants of a district level poetic sitting held at SET College, Pazalpora, Bijbehara here today. In his presidential remarks GN Aatish said that languages are playing a key role in bringing us together because, according to him, if there is anything common that is left between us is language.
“Language is the only thing common that can bring us together and using it we can engage with love and affection,” Aatish said.
Among others, the poets who enthralled the audience with their verses included Maqbool Veeray, Zahid Mukhtar, Farooq Ahmad Farooq, Izhar Mubashir, Muzaffar Hussain Dilbar, Raees Jan Nisar, Raja Yusuf, Abu Shaheed, Ali Shaida, Javed Sagar, Farhan Wullarhami, and Rashid Hilal. (KNS)
