Speakers appreciate contribution of Adaalat to Pahari language, culture

Jammu, Mar 14 (KNS): “Until a writer contributes through meaningful creative expressions, he cannot truly absolve himself from the debt he owes to society”.
This was stated by noted Pahari fiction writer, Ali Adaalat. Adaalat was sharing his views during an interaction which was organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages at K L Saigal Hall here on Monday.
The London based Pahari intellectual and writer is widely known through his well known literary works comprising Poonch Na Sarmad, Taran Ni Aag, and Maila Aasmaan (novel).
Speaking on the occasion, Adaalat said that it was a like home coming for him as he is seeing the place after a long time. Adaalat while recalling his association with Jammu and Kashmir said that his love for the place is amply reflected through his stories and characters.
The meet was presided over by Vice Chairman, Pahari Advisory Board, Kuldip Raj Gupta while MLC Zafar Manhas, former MLA, Syed Mushtaq Bukhari and Punjabi writer Khalid Hussain were in the presidium.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Earlier in his welcome address, Chief Editor Pahari, Dr. Mirza Farooq Anwaar said that it was an honour for the Academy’s Pahari section to host an eminent personality like Ali Adaalat.
Others who also spoke on the occasion included MLA Karnah, Raja Manzoor, former Director General of Police, MM Khajooria, and former MLC, Rafiq Hussain Shah.
As part of the event a paper on life and works of Adaalat was read by Dr. Shahnawaz. As a token of affection, a shawl and memento were presented to Ali Adaalat by the organizers.
Among others those present on the occasion included Shiv Dutt, Prof. AU Wani, Iqbal Malangami, and Sheikh Zahoor. The programme culminated with musical renditions by Tariq Pardesi and party. (KNS)
