Srinagar, Dec 27 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Yateem Trust on Tuesday distributed winter clothing kits (each kit comprising a blanket, a sweater and a Pheran) among its 400 registered widow headed families at its Central office Haft Chinar Opposite Iqbal park Srinagar.
According to the statement issued to KNS, a huge expenditure of over Fifteen Lacs ( Rs. 15,00,000=) was incurred on this distribution programme which was attended to and hailed by a number of eminent personalities and other respectable citizens from all walks of life.
This simple but impressive function was presided over by the Patron of the Trust Z.A Tak who in his address enjoined upon the widows to devote full attention towards education of their children for which J&K Yateem Trust shall remain committed to provide full support to them.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He advised them to inculcate piety and self respect among themselves and their children. As a part of this programme, another 200 kits each containing a pheran, uniform, a warmer set, a pair of shoes and socks were also distributed among 200 orphan children.
The J & K Yateem Trust has been carrying out such programmes consistently for the welfare of widows and downtrodden section of the society for the last 44 years. (KNS)
