Srinagar, Dec 24 (KNS): In a first, Jammu and Kashmir State has chalked out a year-long cultural calendar for schools and colleges with focus on promoting the concept of cultural diversity and extracurricular activities.
Giving details Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Dr. Aziz Hajini said that a meeting to this effect was held at Jammu office of the Academy on Wednesday.
“In the meeting it was decided that all the schools and colleges of the State will organize activities like debates, symposia, singing, painting, drama, poetry and essay writing competitions on regular basis in coordination with the Academy,” he said, adding, the step to have a year-long calendar of cultural activities for schools and colleges has been taken under the instructions of the Chief Minister who is also the President of the Academy.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Chaired by minister of State for Education and Culture, Priya Sethi, the meeting was, among others, attended by Secretary, JKAACL, Dr. Aziz Hajini, Director Colleges, Prof Tariq Ahmad Kawoosa, Director School Education, Kashmir, Dr. Shah Faisal, and Director School Education, Jammu, Smita Sethi.
Secretary to Government, Department of Culture, Heemant Kumar Sharma was also present in the meeting. (KNS)
