JK Teachers Forum Delegation Meets Education Minister Sakina Itoo in Jammu

Jammu, Dec 22 (KNS) : A high-level delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir Teachers’ Forum (JKTF), Baramulla, led by General Secretary Tahir Sofi and accompanied by District President Baramulla Farooq Hussain Dar, District President Kulgam Sartaj Ahmad, and other members, today met Hon’ble Education Minister Sakina Itoo Sahiba at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu.

At the outset, the delegation congratulated the Minister on the successful completion of her Umrah and prayed for her good health and continued service to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation apprised the Minister of several pressing issues concerning the teaching fraternity and students across the Union Territory.

During the meeting, the forum highlighted genuine concerns of teachers, masters, and lecturers, seeking timely government intervention for their redressal. Key issues discussed included the recent order on the Bridge Course for teachers, ATD of teachers, masters and lecturers, reimbursement of Mid-Day Meal (MDM) expenditure, and the early submission of the Transfer Policy Committee report for RETs.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe leadership emphasized that these matters directly affect teachers’ morale, efficiency, and the overall quality of education.

The delegation appreciated the proactive role of the Hon’ble Education Minister and expressed hope that long-pending issues of the teaching community would be resolved on priority.

Education Minister Sakina Itoo gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that all concerns would be examined sympathetically. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the education system and safeguarding the interests of teachers under the leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, assuring that necessary steps would be taken to streamline policies and ensure justice at all levels.

At the conclusion, the delegation thanked the Minister for her time, patience, and positive approach, and once again congratulated her on completing Umrah, praying for her continued good health and strength in public service.(KNS)
