Mumbai, Feb 04 (KNS): Senior National Conference leader and former speaker J&K legislative assembly Haji Mubarak Gul today attended an August ceremony organized by Kashmir to Kerala Social Foundation at Mumbai.
The event rightly recognized prodigious heroes and leaders from different sectors in the country, celebrating their spirit of leadership and excellence in their respective fields.
Mubarak Gul was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He presented awards to about 20 known personalities for their achievement in their respective fields including Mushtaq Chaya (Prominent Businessman), Deepali Watal (Artist) both from J&K State.
Addressing the audience on the occasion, Mubarak Gul talked about calamities, he included that from Mumbai floods of 2005, to Kashmir Floods 2014 and Kerala Floods 2018 what lessons have we learned? It’s we humans which are disturbing the nature and unplanned development, deforestation, lllegal occupation of wetlands are the main causes of these disasters and we must start initiatives to preserve environment on social and individual level.
Talking about the growing Drug Menace, he said that drug abuse continues to be the major health problem in the country and the first and the foremost solution is the prevention.
“Prevention works and spreading this message among strong youth leaders and their peers is imperative to create community level change,” he said.

Mubarak Gul also talked about Tourism and safety of Tourists in J&K State. He said that Jammu & Kashmir State is the safest destination for tourists especially women.
“J&K is the only state in country with no crime against any tourist/visitors and this proves the spirit of Kashmiriyat which believes in humanity, love and harmony,” Gul said.
National Media should stop propagating lies about Kashmir and people from all over the states in the country should visit Kashmir and see themselves the reality of Kashmir.
There should be cultural exchange programs between students of other states and J&K State to understand different cultures, he said.
Mubarak Gul appreciated the activities of K&K Foundation to encourage social services, social activism and expressed good wishes and success for their organization on behalf of Member Parliament & NC President Dr.Farooq Abdullah and NC Vice President & Former CM J&K Omar Abdullah.
Gul appreciated the efforts of Prince Vaidyan, President K&K Social Foundation for his passion for social work. He termed Prince Vaidyaan as an institution in himself who has worked for old age person, blind, handicapped, and various other weaker section of the society and promotion of art and culture, communal harmony and peace.
