JK people have own residencies, we are not sleeping on footpaths and in pipes; what kind of development you are talking about: Muzzafar Shah to BJP

Srinagar, Nov 21 (KNS): Awami National Conference (ANC) vice-president Muzaffar Shah on Saturday said the repeated talk over Article 370 by BJP leaders vindicates the special status is still alive and has not been died. He said Jammu and Kashmir is much developed than other parts of country as local residents are not sleeping on footpaths and in pipes.
Addressing a press conference at his Srinagar residence, the ANC vice-president questioned BJP why people should vote you in upcoming DDC, Urban and Panchayat elections when you have snatched everything from them. “You have scattered the constitution of country. You have snatched everything from people of J&K. How could you expect people will vote you in upcoming DDC polls”, ANC leader said.
Lashing out at BJP leaders including Anurag Thakur, Mukhtar Abbass Naqvi and Shahnawaz Hussain who took on PAGD over deceiving people in the name of restoration of Article 370, the ANC leader said BJP is using Article 370 hundreds times in a day, so how come they said it (Article 370) is dead and impossible to return?
Terming the remarks of Shahnawaz Hussain about Article 370 as “unacceptable”, Muzaffar Shah said I’m sure that Supreme Court (SC) will take suo-moto cognizance against the BJP leader who resorted to contempt to court.
“Since J&K came into direct control of New Delhi, there is no development on ground. People have been deprived from even basic amenities. There is no electricity, no water and no development at all”, Shah said.
He added that New Delhi is plundering the resources of Jammu and Kashmir and exporting electricity to Haryana and other parts of country from J&K, instead of augmenting facilities to local population here.
Shah while taking a dig at BJP said in Jammu and Kashmir every local has its own residency. “We are not sleeping on footpaths and in pipes. You can never see any Kashmiri begging. These are non-locals who comes to valley round the year and get involved into begging”, he said and added, “Jammu and Kashmir is much developed region that other parts of country”.
He alleged that New Delhi has crippled our education system since August 2019 as high-speed internet services are still barred in the region in the pretext of security concerns.
“Besides students, our doctors also were unable to approach outside world in pandemic times for getting advanced knowledge about how to tackle the virus?”, he said. (KNS)
