JJM tenders being cancelled in Bandipora without any reason, alleges Contractors Association President

Bandipora, July 20 (KNS): Har Ghar Jal, a scheme initiated by the Government of India in 2019 with the aim to provide tap water to every rural household by 2024, cannot be fulfilled under any circumstances in Bandipora, president contractors association Bandipora alleged on Wednesday.

Nasir Ahmad Mir, while talking to reporters at Bandipora, alleged that tenders flouted for the scheme are being cancelled in Bandipora district by Jal Sakthi department for the last one year without any reason.

"Some officials in Jal Sakthi department are trying to sabbotage JJM in Bandipora, and government should take note of this, as to why the concerned department is trying to sabotage it,” he alleged.

He said that the Prime Minister's dream of bringing tap water to every house is being sabotaged in the district, which should be seriously looked into.

"Last year, there was a loss of around 20 crores due to cancellation of tenders. Now tenders are again being cancelled this year,” he alleged.

He appealed to the LG led administration to probe the matter as to why tenders are being cancelled in the district without any reason. (KNS)
