JeI condemns New Delhi’s hostile approach toward Kashmiri prisoners

Srinagar, Feb 04 (KNS): Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir (JeI) expresses its deep sorrow and regret over the discriminative attitude by Indian authorities against Kashmiri prisoners.
In a statement to KNS, Advocate Zahid Ali said New-Delhi has kept countless people under its custody for being supporters the movement of “right to self determination”. Besides a number of political prisoners, chief of Muslim Deen Mahaz Dr. Ashiq Hussain Faktoo is also languishing in different jails for more than 23 years now though normally the life imprisonment ends at the expiry of 14 years in jail. But regarding the Kashmiri pro-freedom activists this policy is not implemented and they are being discriminated only because of their affiliation with the ongoing movement.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“Because of this prejudicial approach of New-Delhi the highest court of India sentenced Muhammad Afzal Guru to death punishment giving the reasons that it is being done to satisfy the collective conscience of nation (India), he added.
Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir (JeI) condemns this hostile approach of New-Delhi government against Kashmiri pro-freedom detunes and prisoners and expresses solidarity with all the prisoners who are lodged in and outside state jails. Jama’at also urges human rights bodies to come forward and take effective measures for stopping New-Delhi from continuing this discriminative approach. (KNS)
