JDU holds party convention in Town Hall Handwara

Handwara, Oct 04 (KNS): Janata Dal United President for Jammu and Kashmir GM Shaheen Monday urged upon party workers to gear up for the coming Assembly elections. He said elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir in near future and his party is ready to contest these elections.

GM Shaheen was addressing the party workers at Town Hall Handwara where a number of political activists including Dr Dilshada from BJP joined the party.

In his address Shaheen lamented that no development took place in Valley especially in Handwara during previous successive governments. He said development is being shown only on papers while the ground reality is altogether different.

“Roads are in dilapidated condition, there is no drinking water, not water supply scheme for the people and besides people are being forced to pay hefty amounts as electricity fee,” he said.

Shaheen said it is high time for the people to elect their own government to get problems redressed.

On this occasion, several leaders from Janata Dal United were present. These included District President Owais Akhoon, General Secretary Ashik Ganaie, Youth President J&K Mudasir Ahmed Ganaie, North Kashmir in charge Nayeema and others. (KNS)
