Javed Rana launches "Knowledge Sharing and Ideation" workshop series in Jal Shakti Department

 JAMMU, AUG 21 (KNS) : Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today inaugurated and relaunched the "Knowledge Sharing and Ideation" workshop series in the Jal Shakti Department, at Civil Secretariat Jammu. 

 
 
The workshop was inaugurated in the presence of Additional Chief Secretary, Jal Shakti Department, Shaleen Kabra along with other senior officers of the department and other stakeholders. 
 
 
The workshop series provides a structured platform for officers and officials of the department to share field experiences, technical knowledge and best practices and to deliberate on measures to improve departmental functioning and public service delivery.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Javed Rana said that continuous learning and knowledge exchange among officers were essential for improving the functioning of the department and enhancing service delivery to the public.
 
 He stressed that officers at all levels should actively participate in the workshop series and contribute their field experiences for the benefit of the department as a whole.
 
 
The Minister identified the key thematic areas for the workshop series as updation of technical knowledge; innovations, field experiences and best practices within the department; departmental procedures and work ethics; public service delivery; use of technology and digital platforms; and project planning and implementation.
 
 
The workshop brought together officers and other stakeholders to review and deliberate on capacity-building modules developed for field-level functionaries, including gram panchayat representatives.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
 
Javed Rana expressed confidence that the relaunched series would further strengthen technical capacity within the department and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement among officers and field functionaries.
 
 
He said sustainable service delivery extends beyond infrastructure creation and underlined the need to empower local institutions and stakeholders with the knowledge, skills and institutional support needed to manage water supply systems effectively.
 
 
The Minister stressed the importance of clearly defined roles, Jan Bhagidari and a robust technical support ecosystem to ensure regular, safe and reliable drinking water supply for all households.
 
 
Shaleen Kabra, on the occasion, also spoke about the importance of the initiative in institutionalising knowledge-sharing practices across the department. 
 
He underscored the need for practical and application-oriented capacity-building covering source sustainability, water quality, operation and maintenance, financial management and community participation. 
It was informed that 13 workshops were conducted earlier under the series, from August, 2023 to August, 2024.
 
These covered subjects including urban water management, modernisation of the New Partap Canal under NABARD, implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, flood management in Kashmir Valley, and flood protection works near the Holy Cave, among others.
