Srinagar, Nov 14(KNS): The higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir received fresh snowfall on Monday morningwhile the rains lashed the plains, bringing the mercury down in the Valley.
An official told the Kashmir News Service (KNS), that the world-famous ski resort, Gulmarg, Sinthan Top,Gurez, Mughal road, Zojilla and other places experienced fresh snowfall today.
"Many parts including the plains of Kashmir also received rainfall due to which the mercury has plummeted across Kashmir," he said.
Officials added that the Srinagar-Leh highway was closed after fresh rains and snow while the Mughal road continues to remain closed.
“Mughal road and SSG (Srinagar-Sonamarg- Gumri) road closed for vehicular movement due to snowfall,” the official said, adding that the snowfall also led the closure of Bandipora-Gurez road.(KNS).
