J&K gets 1st prize for generating highest number ABHA IDs, 2nd for tele-consultations

Srinagar, Dec 10 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday achieved a major milestone as it was awarded first prize for generating highest number of Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) Identity Cards (IDs), and it also got second prize for tele-consulations.

The award was presented by Union Health & FW Minister Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar during celebration of UHC Day, 2022 which is being celebrated on 10th and 11th December at International Cooperation and Convention Centre, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. 

“UT of J&K awarded First Prize in the category for generation of the highest number of ABHA IDs and 2nd prize for the highest number of Teleconsultations at UHC Day. The award was presented by Union Health & FW Minister today at, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh”, National Health Mission said in a tweet.

Ayushman Bharat Health Account Address is a unique identifier (self-declared username) that enables one to share and access his/her health records digitally. 

The event was graced by Governor of UP Anandiben Patel virtually, Mansukh Mandaviya  Union minister of Health and Family welfare, Health ministers of various States and UTs, Senior officials from ministry of health and family welfare, states, UTs and development partners. 

Under the leadership of Secretary Health Bhupinder Kumar J&K is performing best in improving health indicators. 

On behalf of J&K Dr Mohd Shafi Koka, State nodal officer NHM received the awards from Union minister of health and family welfare who personally congratulated the UT of J&K for achieving the milestones in healthcare delivery system.

Koka told KNS that they digitalized the health records including tele-consultation by which people are getting benefits. 

He said if a patient is coming from far off area to Srinagar hospital for surgery, he is being asked to report to a local doctor of his area following which the doctor shares the actual report to the Srinagar based doctor and the tele consultation is done through the process thus giving the much benefit to the patients in terms of time and other travel.

He further said that around 16 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs have been generated by J&K. (KNS)
