Srinagar, June 25 (KNS): All India Congress Committee General Secretary Syed Naser Hussain on Wednesday said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve full statehood and the same rights as other Indian states under the Constitution.
Speaking to reporters at the Congress headquarters in Srinagar, Hussain said the Union Government must complete all constitutional formalities to restore full democratic rights to the J&K.
“People of Jammu and Kashmir should get full statehood and equal rights like other Indian states. They should have the right to govern themselves under the Constitution of India,” he said.
Hussain added that the Government of India should not delay key developmental projects and must treat all citizens equally.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“The facilities, roads, tunnels, and rail connections that are available to people in other parts of India should also be given to Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
He also said the ongoing projects being inaugurated by the current government were actually launched during the UPA regime.
“All these development projects were started during Congress-led UPA rule. The present government is only completing what we began. They don’t have any new projects of their own,” Hussain added.(KNS)
