Jan expresses concern over ration scarcity at PDS outlets

Rationees not provided sugar for 4 months

Poonch, Feb 19 (KNS): Expressed grave concern over scarce availability of rations, especially sugar at the CAPD outlets across the Poonch District, former MLA and Provincial President Youth National Conference Ajaz Jan on Sunday asked the government to shoulder the basic minimum responsibility of governance and solve the problems of people forthwith.
Addressing party workers at Mandi Poonch, Jan said the Public Distribution System (PDS) outlets are almost empty, forcing rationees to wait for weeks together. “Due to snowfall and land lockedness of various areas the supplies have got further impacted adversely”, he said, adding that the ration holders have been deprived of sugar quota for about four months.
“As if it is not enough, the insensitive government is linking PDS distribution with Aadhar with a sizable chunk of population yet to have cards, as the concerned agency has wound up its centres due to non-payment of their dues”, he added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The Provincial Youth National Conference President also criticized the Centre for not allotting required quota of LPG and kerosene oil to the state as a result of which the people in far-flung areas are hugely suffering. He said both the Centre and the State Government have failed in mitigating the problems of the people in Jammu and Kashmir and during the past two years these have accumulated manifold.
Earlier, people from different villages of Poonch Mandi met the former MLA and raised issues of their areas related to rations, power, drinking water besides dilapidated condition of roads and failure of the government in undertaking restoration of damaged utility services due to rains and snowfall.
