Provincial Youth National Conference President Ajaz Jan on Monday expressed anguish over killing of yet another civilian in shelling from across the border on Line of Control in Poonch and described the response of the PDP-BJP Government towards the victims as disgusting and callous.
“Again there was no mode of transport for shifting the injured to hospital, as the ambulances located at various stations have been withdrawn since”, Mr Jan said, adding that this reflects the sadistic attitude of the coalition government.
He wondered over the recent visit of the PDP President to the area and said she had no time to inquire about the plight of border sufferers. The PDP-BJP ministers come as visitors to have photo ops and leave for good without caring about the hapless people, he added.
Expressing solidarity with the sufferers in Sawijan, Jan conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said the plight of the border people has been miserable as they were suffering from constant fear due to shelling from time to time. “They need compassion, care and above all safe shelters to live in”, he said and referred to the normal activity having come to grinding halt in the border belts. He said the farmers have suffered colossal losses, as they can’t freely go to their fields for farming due to threat perception. Similarly, schooling of the children has received big setback during the recent weeks, he said, adding the scenario is quite grim and the approach of the state government just casual.
Jan is camping adjacent to the affected village and mobilizing help of the National Conference workers to the needy.
