Srinagar, Feb 22 (KNS): A public awareness program regarding Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana was held at Lar Ganderbal today.
The programme was conducted in coordination with JKSRLM (Umeed) Lar block.
As many as 120 persons from the surrounding areas of Lar including registered pharmacists participated in the programme.
While interacting with the audience Rifat Nazir, State Coordinator Jan Aushadhi said that Jan Aushadhi is a Govt of India initiative to make quality generic medicines available to the public at easily affordable rates.
She also apprised the pharmacists about the procedure to open Jan Aushadhi Stores and the benefits meant for them under the scheme. She also thanked Mission Director JKSRLM, Ghulam Nabi Kasba for mobilizing support through Umeed network for spreading awareness about Jan Aushadhi movement in the State.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Others who spoke on the occasion include Sheikh Rafiq, Program Manager, JkSRLM and some resource persons from JK Developmental Action Group a nonprofit society associated with the promotion of Pradhan Mantri Aushadhi Yojana in the State.
The questions from the audience especially the pharmacists were clarified at length by the organizers during the programme.
Programme Manager JKSRLM described the Scheme as a good livelihood opportunity for unemployed pharmacists besides offering great benefits to the poor patients who cannot afford costly branded medicines and pledged the support of his office for promoting Jan Aushadhi in the interest of poor patients and providing livelihood opportunity to the unemployed pharmacists in the Ganderbal District.
