Jammu Mayor reviews development works of nallahSrinagar

 Feb 24 (KNS): Continuing the drive to provide better development and basic facilities to the people of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation on Monday conducted an extensive tour of Rajpura , Shakti nagar  along with  Anu Bali,  Surinder Choudhary councilors of ward no.24 and 29 respectively and tool stock of the ongoing construction work and laying of slab on nallah at Rajpura near Shanta School flowing through ward no.24, 28 &29.

According to A statement issued to KNS, Mayor started the further extensive work of covering of this nallah at main junction of wards.

“This was the long pending demands of the inhabitants of localities of Rajpura, Bakshi nagar ,Rehari as school going children and old age persons have to face lot of problems while passing in the areas due to uncovered nallah at prominent spots and number of inhabitants even fell in this open nallah on several occasions.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe nallah is being constructed by UEED under AMRUT Scheme at the estimate cost of Rs 1.26 crore,” statement reads.
Mayor directed the engineering wing of UEED to complete this project with quality material & upto the satisfaction of inhabitants of the locality and within stipulated time period so that they can have a sign of relief and don’t suffer from further foul smell emitting through this broken nallah which they are getting from the last so many years. 
Tripta Devi,  Atul Bakshi,  Naveen Bali & other prominent citizens as well as engineers of UEED also accompanied the mayor during the tour.
Mayor appealed to the inhabitants not to throw silt, debris, garbage etc in the public lanes, drains & nallah which further creates unhygienic conditions, besides he also asked them to plant at least five saplings per person in suitable pots and place them right/left side around the nallah to make the environment eco friendly.
“Cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation in various development activities, use separate dustbins for collecting dry and wet garbage as the Jammu Municipal Corporation is doing its best and has taken number of inhabitants under Swacch Bharat Mission for making Jammu city , neat clean & green,” he told residents (KNS).
