Jammu & Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum holds meeting in Srinagar

Srinagar December 21 (KNS):  An Executive Meeting of core members and district representatives of Jammu and kashmir General Line Teachers Forum was held at Srinagar. Organiser of the forum Tasneem Ali Beigh put forth the agenda of the meeting and issues pertaining to the teachers of the Union Territory were discussed threadbare. The Core members of the forum laid emphasis on strengthening the forum at grass root level. Further it was unanimously decided that elections will be held for each zone and district in a phased manner. The District representatives put forth their suggestions for making the organization a vibrant voice of teachers

Later a strong delegation of about forty members from all districts of Kashmir province met the worthy director school education Kashmir Dr. Tasuduq Hussain Mir. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere in the meeting hall of the directorate. The representatives of the forum put forth their issues and suggestions for the benefit of teachers and students. The issues that were discussed among others included the abolishment of New pension scheme ( NPS), implementation of annual transfer drive (ATD), Promotions teacher to master and teacher/master to lecturer, leave salary for winter tutorials and pay disparity of 2009 SSRB recruited teachers

 Further the representatives of the forum assured full support for the implementation of National Educational Policy 2020.

 The worthy DSEK congratulated the forum of teachers for the successful completion of academic calendar and said that teachers played a constructive role in successful completion of various programs launched by the school education department.(KNS)
