Jammu, April 09 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Apni Trade Union on Friday organized a day long convention at Country Inn (Jhelum Resorts) in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

As per the statement issued to kashmir news service (KNS),The one-day convention was organized by President Apni Trade Union Aijaz Kazmi in which Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari chaired as the Chief Guest.

Besides Party’s President, Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir, Vice Presidents Ajaz Ahmad Khan & Choudhary Zulfikar Ali, General Secretaries Vijay Bakaya & Vikram Malhotra, Provincial President Jammu Manjit Singh, Provincial President Woman Namrta Sharma, District President Jammu (Urban) Pranav Shagotra, District President Jammu (Rural A) Pushap Dev Kumar Uppal, Provincial Secretary Jammu Dr. Rohit Gupta, District President Kathua Prem Lal, District president Kishtwar Mohinder Singh Parriar, Incharge District Udhampur Faqir Nath, Party leader and ex-MLA Kamal Arora, State Coordinator SC Bodh Raj Bhagat, State Coordinator OBC Madan Lal Chalotra, Youth Wing Vice President Raqeeq Ahmad Khan, General Secretary Youth Wing Abhay Bakaya and Youth Provincial President Jammu Gourav Kapoor.

The convention was attended by various trade union representatives and affiliates who apprised the Party leadership about a myriad difficulties faced by them in their respective occupations.

The representatives who were present in the convention included: President Tourism Federation Jammu Mr. Seghal, Vice President PDD Lineman and Workers Association Anil Salathia, Chairman Provincial Power Employers Association Shakti Gupta, President Safayi Karamchari Forum Jammu Mr. Yashpal, General Secretary Auto Union Jammu Ajay Bhatt and President Taxi Association Jammu Sushil Dutta.

Addressing the gathering, Altaf Bukhari commended the work of the members of these associations and said that even during the pandemic their altruistic contributions to the society are immense.

“An adroit and hardworking class is the backbone of a country’s economic strength. I feel proud while addressing such a nimble audience here. Apni Party shall raise your grievances before the competent authorities and will rigorously follow it until their prompt redressal is achieved,” Bukhari remarked.

He also said that people especially related with trade had to face immense problems after the post-August 05 scenario and to resolve all these anomalies the restoration of Statehood remains of pivotal importance.

“We hope that the statehood is restored at an earliest so that the sufferings of our working class are accordingly mitigated, as only elected representatives can efficiently address the issues of the general public,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Apni Party senior Vice President Ghulam said that Apni Party is committed to resolve the issues of the general public and works for ushering in an era of peace and stability in J&K.

“The people of Jammu and Kashmir desire progress and development. They have suffered for long now. We are steadfast in our promises wherein we work to initiate a new chapter in J&K via advocating an equitable development of both divisions,” he said.

Vice Presidents Ajaz Ahmad Khan & Choudhary Zulfikar Ali also spoke on the occasion and laid stress that since the abrogation of article 370, the trading and working class of J&K has been suffering due to the negligence and impervious attitude of the administration towards their genuine demands.

On the occasion, the Apni Trade Union President Aijaz Kazmi thanked the Party leadership and pledged to work diligently to strengthen the Party at grassroots level.

“This event is a proof that our Party is highly concerned about the issues faced by our working class and as our leadership has assured these grievances will be raised with those in authority for its immediate redressal,” Aijaz Kazmi concluded.(KNS)
