JAMMU, Jan 27 (KNS): In a decisive pre-budget outreach, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather on Tuesday held a high-level advisory meeting with media representatives, taking direct feedback on infrastructural hurdles and issuing immediate directives for redressal ahead of the crucial budget session beginning February 2, 2026.
The meeting, convened by the Directorate of Information, was attended by senior journalists and representatives from all major print, electronic, and digital media organisations across the Union Territory.
According to the news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), Speaker Rather emphasised the "critical partnership" between the legislature and the press and urged journalists to adopt a "balanced and informative approach" in their coverage of the government's upcoming financial blueprint.
The interaction took a candid turn as journalists highlighted "persistent logistical and procedural hurdles" that have long hampered reporting during assembly sessions.
