J&K Showcases Agri-Produce at International Expo in Delhi

NEW DELHI, Mar 12 (KNS) : In a bid to integrate the Union Territory's agri-produce with international markets, the Jammu & Kashmir government has facilitated the participation of ten Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) at the Horti India Expo 2026, which began here on Thursday.

The three-day exposition at the Yashobhoomi convention centre in Dwarka aims to provide a platform for agro-processing, value addition, and global trade linkages. The J&K contingent, mobilized by the Directorate of Horticulture Planning and Marketing under the Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP), is showcasing a range of local horticulture products to an international audience.

Inaugurating the J&K pavilion, Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Ghulam Jeelani Zargar, said the government is focusing on strengthening agricultural value chains to enhance farmers' incomes.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“Such international platforms provide our producers with direct access to global buyers. We have participants here from Russia, the Netherlands, and Germany, which presents a significant opportunity for our FPOs to secure business deals,” Mr. Zargar said.

The event, organized by SV Global Expo, features Business to Business (B2B) sessions aimed at connecting emerging agri-enterprises with potential investors. The Director also briefed attendees on UT initiatives like the JKHADP and JKCIP, which are designed to support the farming community through improved market access. The expo will continue until March 14. (KNS)
