Srinagar, Dec 18 (KNS): CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami Sunday said that “as far our relationship with Indian union is concerned it is a shared sovereignty.”
Tarigami was referring to Supreme Court verdict wherein it had stated that “J&K has no vestige of sovereignty outside the Constitution of India.”
He said that besides constitution of India, the Jammu and Kashmir state is having its own constitution.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“And it is because of those peculiarities that there is Article 370 in the constitution of India, which is supposed to protect the special rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Tarigami said.
“We think it is misplace at all that historical and constitutionally guaranteed facts are ignored,” he said. (KNS)
