J&K’s elected government failed on every front: Ghulam Hassan Mir

Srinagar, May 13 (KNS) : Former Cabinet Minister and Apni Party’s Senior Vice President, Ghulam Hassan Mir, on Wednesday said that the elected government has failed to provide effective governance and fulfil the promises the ruling party made during the 2024 election campaign. He said that the government has failed on every front.

Ghulam Hassan Mir made these remarks today while addressing a party event at the party headquarters in Srinagar. The event was organised to welcome Congress party’s District Vice President Srinagar, Arif Malla, along with his workers and associates, into the Apni Party. On this occasion, Ghulam Hassan Mir expressed anguish over the elected government’s failure to provide effective governance to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said, “The ruling Jammu & Kashmir National Conference had made a range of promises to the people during its campaign for the 2024 Assembly elections. The party misled people with false promises and tall claims. It promised the moon and stars to the people, claiming that if voted to power, it would restore the abrogated Article 370 and bring back statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.”

He further said, “On governance, the ruling party allured people and sought votes by making numerous promises. It claimed that its government would provide 200 units of free electricity to the people. The party also promised free cooking gas and an enhancement in the ration quota. It had assured the unemployed youth that one lakh jobs would be provided soon after assuming power, and also promised the regularisation of daily wagers.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”

“Now, one and a half years have passed, but this government has failed to fulfil even a single promise it made to the people. They simply lied to the voters and secured their votes through deception,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ghulam Hassan Mir expressed concern over the devastation caused to fruit orchards by the hailstorm. He expressed deep sympathy with the affected families and urged the administration to ensure immediate and adequate compensation for those who suffered heavy losses due to this natural calamity.
