Jammu, Nov 16 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said Jammu and Kashmir Police have dismantled a pan-India terror module, preventing planned attacks across the country.
Addressing a function, he said the module, linked to the Red Fort blast, was cracked through timely intelligence and coordinated action by the police.
Sinha expressed grief over the Nowgam Police Station incident, where an accidental explosion occurred during the forensic examination of explosives recovered from arrested terrorists. He said a team was collecting samples of explosives seized in connection with the Red Fort case when the blast occurred, resulting in the death of nine people, including six police personnel.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The LG clarified that the explosion had no terror angle or outside intervention and was accidental.
Authorities have launched a detailed inquiry, and support is being provided to the injured and the families of those who died. Sinha praised the police for actions that prevented further attacks.(KNS).
