Baramulla, Mar 14 (KNS) ; A two-day training programme for police officers on effectively prosecuting and securing convictions in cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act concluded here on Saturday.
The capacity-building workshop was organised by the Range Police Headquarters (RPHQ) Baramulla at the Conference Hall of the District Police Lines. The initiative was aimed at enhancing the professional skills of field officers operating across the North Kashmir Range in handling complex litigation.
The technical sessions were led by experts from the Judiciary, the office of Prosecution, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and the J&K Police. The discussions focused on bridging investigation gaps, strengthening evidence collection, forensic sampling protocols, and case study analysis to ensure successful legal outcomes.

Officers from the ranks of Deputy Superintendents of Police (Dy.SsP) to Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors, representing all districts of the North Kashmir Range, participated in the programme.
The valediction ceremony was attended by the Additional Superintendent of Police, Baramulla, and other senior officers. Certificates were distributed to the participants, and mementos were presented to the guest speakers.
Addressing the gathering, DIG North Kashmir Range, Shri Maqsood-ul-Zaman (IPS), stated that the true measure of the initiative lies in its field application, urging officers to prepare case files meticulously to ensure that investigations culminate in convictions. (KNS)
