Srinagar, June 22 (KNS): A high-level delegation from Jammu & Kashmir, led by Dr Baba Nazrul Islam, participated in the 15th Annual Conference of the Private Schools and Children Welfare Association (PSACWA) held in Hyderabad from June 19 to June 22, 2026.
Dr. Baba Nazrul Islam, who also serves as the President of PSACWA Jammu & Kashmir, has been actively working alongside the National President, Shamael Ahmad, to promote educational excellence and child welfare initiatives across Jammu & Kashmir.
The four-day national conference brought together educationists, school leaders, policy experts, and child welfare advocates from various states of India. Deliberations focused on the emerging challenges and opportunities in inclusive and holistic education, innovative learning ecosystems, child welfare frameworks, and educational leadership in the contemporary era.
A moment of great pride for Jammu & Kashmir came when the J&K delegation was awarded the First Prize among participating states in recognition of its outstanding educational initiatives, innovative practices, and valuable contributions during the technical sessions of the conference. The award reflects the remarkable efforts being undertaken by private educational institutions and stakeholders across the Union Territory.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Baba Nazrul Islam expressed gratitude to the organizers and emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to strengthen educational quality, equity, innovation, and child welfare. He stated that the recognition received by Jammu & Kashmir is a testament to the dedication of educators and school leaders working tirelessly for the betterment of students.
During the concluding ceremony, all delegates were felicitated for their active participation and contributions to the success of the conference.

On the sidelines of the conference, the delegation held a productive interaction with officials of Mimber Academy and visited its associated institutions in Hyderabad to study the academy's innovative “My Young Scientist” Laboratory Development Initiative. The delegation explored opportunities for introducing similar scientific learning and innovation-based laboratory models in schools across Jammu & Kashmir. The academy appreciated the efforts of the J&K delegation and felicitated its members during the visit.
The delegation also had the privilege of meeting the leadership of MS Academy, where discussions focused on contemporary curriculum design, future-ready learning models, and educational reforms being implemented across the country. The delegation appreciated the academy's pioneering initiatives in curriculum development and student-centric learning.
The successful participation of the J&K delegation and the recognition earned at the national forum have further strengthened the position of Jammu & Kashmir as a progressive contributor to educational innovation, institutional development, and child welfare initiatives at the national level. (KNS)
