The statement issued to KNS reads that "Continuing with its endeavor to foster innovation and ideation among the college students, the Islamia College of science & commerce, Srinagar is organizing an innovative Mobile Application contest among college students of all the Degree Colleges of Kashmir Division."

 

 The first three winners of the contest will be given a cash prize of Rs10,000, Ra 8000, and Rs 6000 respectively. 

The contest has been styled as “App Marathon: An Innovative Mobile Application to solve our day today problems”. The last date for submission of Innovative Mobile application is 30th September, 2022. 

 

 Highlighting the need of holding such a contest, the Principal of the College, Prof. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir said. ’’Our students are full of innovative ideas and they need a platform to show case and handholding such an innovative idea. The contest is being held with this spirit and to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among our students’’. 

The contest is being organized by Innovation and Incubation Hub Center of the College. 

 

 Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Jhat, convener of the center of the college informed that the Innovative Mobile Application could be related to following fields and not limited to: Handicrafts & Traditional Technologies/ Energy Conservation/ Horticulture and Agriculture/ Food Processing/ New Products and Services/ Traffic Management. He further added that the three winners will be chosen from the top ten innovative Idea holders who shall be invited to give a presentation before an Evaluation Committee constituted for the purpose.
