Srinagar December 15 (KNS) : Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar former MLA called on the Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha at the Raj Bhavan here today.


Mr Jabbar apprised the Lt Governor about various issues of public importance of Ganderbal area.

In a statement issued here said that Jabbar had a detailed interaction with the Lt Governor and projected several demands and issues about regularisation of daily-wagers, casual labourers and CP workers.

He also called for the release of pending payment and wages of employees working under MGNREGA.

Sheikh raised the issue of NPS employees and demands restoration of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in place of New Pension Scheme (NPS). 

Ishfaq Jabbar urged the Lt Governor to spare the BPL consumers and middle-class users from power tariff hike and consumer load. 

He said that the hike in electricity tariff and load has badly hit the poor consumers.

Ishfaq also demanded doorstep service to the old age people, widows and disabled pensioners who are not able to attend the public offices and service centres so that some relief is provided to them and are re-enrolled successfully.

Mr Jabbar raised the issue of vacant post of Principal Sainik School Manasbal and demands immediate filling of the post.

Sheikh also bring into the notice of Lt Governor shortage of timber and demands availability of timber in each and every depot of the district.

The Lt Governor assured Sh. Jabbar to take up the genuine issues and demands projected by him for examination and their early redressal and urged him to continue his endeavours for the growth and advancement of his area, on all fronts.

“We are determined for ensuring equitable and fast-paced development of J&K and growth and prosperity of its people,” he said.(KNS)
