Srinagar, Sept 22 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday said that it have started investigation after a civilian was injured in Azadgunj area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district , while army reported that the individual tried to snatch weapon from a soldier. 

In a statement, issuer to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a police spokesperson said that today at around 12:35 pm initial report was received that some gunshots were heard from Azadgunj Chowk Baramulla and a civilian has been hit.

“Upon this, an FIR No 211/2021 of PS Baramulla was registered and further investigation was taken up. Injured civilian was identified as Mohsin Soleh of Arampora and was shifted to hospital. It transpired that he had received bullet injuries in the legs,” the statement reads.

It reads that statements of eyewitness, of the family and other bystanders in the matter are being recorded and evidences like CCTV footage etc is being collected.

“Later on, the concerned Army unit has reported to police station about attempt of weapon snatching against the said person, who has a history as an OGW. Police has started investigation, while the injured is stable and undergoing treatment,” it reads. (KNS)
