Srinagar, Oct 1 (KNS): Large number of people in Bemina area of Srinagar Thursday blocked National Highway, alleging that government has deliberately delayed the compensation to the flood victims of the area.
According to KNS correspondent Hundreds of people assembled near the JVC hospital and raised slogans in support of their demand and expressed concern over the apathetic attitude of the state and the Central governments.
They also raised slogans against the governments for their alleged delaying tactics in paying relief to the flood-hit people.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
They alleged the State Government has turned blind eye towards their plight as not even a single family has been rehabilitated till date in the affected area.
The angry protestors said that only Rs 3800 each to affected households were provided. “This is not a relief but mockery in the name of relief,” said one of the protesters.
They alleged that scores of affected families are forced to live under open sky due to non-disbursement of compensation to rebuild the houses.KNS
