Infiltration bids from Pakistan being jointly foiled by security forces: DGP

Kupwara, Oct 26 (KNS): Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh Thursday said that infiltration bids happening from Pakistani side are being resisted and foiled jointly by Army, Police and other agencies.


DGP Dilbagh Singh as per KNS said the infiltration bids taking place from Pakistan are being foiled by joint efforts of Army, Police and other agencies. He was talking to media persons in north Kashmir's Kupwara.

"Pakistan is persistently pushing infiltrators to this side but due to our alertness such attempts are being foiled with the joint efforts of Army, Police and other agencies," DGP Dilbagh Singh said.

He said there are 16 launching pads still active on the other side of border and Pakistan is leaving no stone unturned to push terrorists into this side of Kashmir with an aim to harm peaceful atmosphere in the region. "Pakistan want to push sizeable number of terrorists into this side of Kashmir before heavy snowfall. This is the time when Pakistan tries to push for more infiltration attempts. But our troops are alert. They are aborting such plans with mutual coordination in between Army, Police and other agencies," he said.

About Kupwara's Machil encounter, DGP Dilbagh Singh added that operation is yet to be over. "Search operation is underway. We have come to know that few terrorists have been killed. The operation is still in progress. Once it is over, exact details will be shared accordingly," DGP added. (KNS)
