Says officer among 4 Army men, 2 militants killed

Srinagar, Aug 07 (KNS): Army on Tuesday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid by killing two militants who according to them were trying to cross over to this side of the line of control (LoC) in Gurez sector of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
However, the defence spokesman, Rajesh Kalia informed Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the four of its men including a major were also killed in the gunfight at Gurez sector.
Kalia said that the infiltration bid was foiled in Gurez sector.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Two militants were killed. In the operation, one officer and three soldiers were also killed.”
He further stated that the operation is still in progress.
Defense sources told KNS that the bodies of slain militants killed in the gunfight was not received when the report was last filed.
They identified the slain Army men as Major KP Rane, Havaldar Jamie Singh, Havaldar Vikramjeet and Rifleman Mandeep of 36 RR. (KNS)
