Karnah, Sep 26 (KNS): Armies of India and Pakistan engaged in a brief gunfire along the Line of Control near Seemari area of Teetwal in Karnah sector of Kupwara district on Sunday morning, official sources said.

Official sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that at about 07:15 hours today there was firing of few rounds of RPG and mortor shells.

“The army responded in equivalent measure and the exchange of fire lasted for around ten minutes. However, there was no loss or damage reported,” they said.

Meanwhile, a senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of gunfire and said that there has been no damage reported in the incident. 

“This has been first incidence of cross firing along the LoC since February 25th February, when ceasefire pact was announced between the two side along the LoC,” he said.

Meanwhile, defence spokesperson told KNS that he had no information about the same. (KNS)
