Srinagar, Oct 16 (KNS): The Democratic Freedom Party chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah while rejecting the statement of Indian first secretary Abhishek Singh at the United Nations termed it a "white lie" and said India always exhibited "unrealistic" approach with regard to Kashmir dispute."By continuing with such unrealistic approach vis-à-vis Kashmir issue, India always proved as a stumbling block to initiatives aimed at ensuring peace in the south Asia," Shah said in a statement to KNS.
He hailed the statement of Pakistan ambassador Maleeha Lodhi terming it as "based on truth and reality". He said Pakistan always took initiatives and showed positive approach in resolving all the contentious issues with India but the latter never showed interest or sincerity in this regard and continues to find a way-out.
Rejecting Abhishek Singh's remarks, Shah suggested him to revisit the history and check out the historical realities, background of Kashmir dispute and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's promises and documents related to that, before issuing any “non-sense" statements.
Shah says the elections conducted in Kashmir by caging the whole resistance leadership are nothing but fraud and deceptive. He also said these elections cannot be substitute to referendum in the state."We challenge the Government of India to hold a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir of it is so sure of getting mandate of Kashmiris.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWhatever the results will be acceptable to everyone," Shah said. Shah also rejected India's rhetoric of "integral part" saying New Delhi must learn to accept the bitter truth with regard to Kashmir dispute. "The state of Jammu and Kashmir was independent even at the time when India was divided into 565 territories but India annexed the state through its military might on 27 October 1947. Since then, India has turned the state into a slaughter house," Shah said.
Paying tribute to martyred Gul Muhammad and Riyaz Ahmad of Doda, Shah said no one will be allowed to pay with the precious blood of martyrs. He says these martyrs chose the way of hardships and are sacrificing their lives for the great cause.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of DFP while criticizing the state administration over keeping its chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah under continuous house arrest said that after getting released from jail in 2011, Shah has been kept under detention for a period of 25 months and 21 days and was prevented from offering 166 Friday and 9 Eid prayers.
"Shabir Ahmad Shah's continuous house arrest is nothing but undemocratic and autocratic act on part of so-called government and there is a Marshall Law prevailing in the state," the spokesperson added. (KNS)
