Srinagar, April 21 (KNS): In a swift and coordinated response, the Indian Army has stepped in to assist civil agencies in restoring connectivity on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), which remains blocked near Ramban due to landslides triggered by heavy rains and flash floods.
Several vehicles and passengers have been stranded along the vital highway since last night, prompting immediate humanitarian assistance from the Indian Army. The Army personnel, working alongside the district administration, have been providing essential aid including food, water, and medical assistance to stranded commuters. Their efforts have been crucial in maintaining calm and ensuring safety amidst the chaos caused by the weather-induced disruption.
Civilian agencies have also mobilised JCBs and heavy earth-moving machinery to clear debris and expedite road restoration. Despite challenging conditions, restoration work is ongoing with full force.(KNS)
