India to Resume Tourist Visas for Chinese Nationals from July 24, First Time Since 2020

Beijing, July 23 (KNS): India will start issuing tourist visas to Chinese nationals from July 24, the Indian Embassy in Beijing announced on Wednesday. This will be the first time in five years that Chinese citizens can travel to India for tourism, following the suspension of visas after the 2020 Galwan Valley clashes.

The decision is seen as a major step toward normalising relations between the two countries, which have been tense due to the border standoff in eastern Ladakh.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Earlier this year, India and China agreed to restart direct flights, resume visa services, and allow Indian pilgrims to visit Kailash Mansarovar, showing signs of easing tensions.

The announcement comes after Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s two-day visit to Beijing, highlighting renewed diplomatic engagement between the two Asian neighbours.(KNS)
