Emphasizes vital role of education in shaping responsible citizens

Akhnoor December 23 (KNS): National Executive member of Bharatiya Janata Party and former minister, Priya Sethi today underscored the pivotal role of education in shaping the future of India. "The destiny of India is being shaped in its classrooms," she said, emphasizing the importance of education in instilling civic and social responsibility among citizens.
 
Addressing the students during the programme at GD Goenka Public School, Akhnoor, the former Education minister commended the recent recommendation by a committee of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), proposing the replacement of the term 'India' with 'Bharat' in school textbooks. She termed it as a significant step towards reinforcing the nation's cultural and historical identity.
 
The senior BJP leader also highlighted the transformative impact of the New Education Policy introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. This policy, she noted, is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at revolutionizing the educational landscape of the country. It is designed to equip the youth with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to contribute effectively to society and the nation's progress, she added.
 
Priya Sethi further spoke about the importance of nurturing values like tolerance, respect, and empathy within the educational system. "Our classrooms should be microcosms of a vibrant, inclusive India," she stated. "By fostering these values, we can build a generation that is not only academically accomplished but also socially responsible, driven by a desire to serve the nation," she added.

Priya Sethi also commended the dedicated efforts of the Chairman, Principal, and school management for their unyielding commitment to provide quality education and fostering an environment conducive to learning and growth. She highlighted the importance of such educational institutions in shaping the future of our youth and the nation at large.

Purshotam Sharma, Chairman of the School, in his address, emphasized the school's mission since its establishment not to only impart academic knowledge but also to instill values and skills necessary for students to thrive in the rapidly evolving world. He also outlined the future plans for the school, which include integrating advanced technologies in classrooms, expanding extracurricular programs, and strengthening community partnerships to enhance the overall educational experience of the students.(KNS)
