India Prepared to Cross LoC to Uphold Its Dignity, Says Defence Minister

Srinagar, July 25(KNS): India's Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, on Wednesday said that the nation is prepared to cross the Line of Control (LoC) to uphold its honor and dignity.

During the 24th Kargil Vijay Diwas commemoration at the Kargil War Memorial, he urged civilians to stand by the soldiers if the situation demands, citing the example of civilians' participation in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Remembering the 1999 Kargil war, Singh paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives, emphasizing that the war was imposed on India by Pakistan.

He lauded the public's indirect support during war situations but called for direct support in battlefield scenarios if necessary.

Asserting that the country will go to any extent to maintain its honor, even crossing the LoC, he reaffirmed India's commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty. The Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed to commemorate India's victory over Pakistan in the Kargil conflict.(KNS)
