India-Pakistan Asia Cup Matches Shifted to Sri Lanka Confirms IPL Chairman

Srinagar, July 12 (KNS): The highly anticipated Asia Cup matches between India and Pakistan will be hosted in Sri Lanka as confirmed by IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal on Wednesday.

The decision comes as the Rohit Sharma-led team will not travel to Pakistan.

Dhumal, who is currently attending the ICC Chief Executives Meet in Durban, revealed that BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and PCB representative Zaka Ashraf held a meeting ahead of the ICC Board meeting scheduled for Thursday to finalize the schedule.

"No such discussions took place. India is not traveling to Pakistan, and our secretary will not be traveling either, contrary to the reports. Only the schedule has been finalized," clarified Dhumal.

It is highly likely that India will face Pakistan in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, just like in the 2010 edition of the tournament. Pakistan's sole home match will be against Nepal. The other three matches scheduled are Afghanistan vs. Bangladesh, Bangladesh vs. Sri Lanka, and Sri Lanka vs. Afghanistan.(KNS)
