Srinagar, June 27 (KNS): The Opposition on Monday took on the government for not increasing the Hajj for Jammu and Kashmir Muslims.
Congress legislator G M Saroori raised the issue in Lower House of the legislature during the Zero Hour, who said J&K government has received 32000 applications from the Hajj aspirants in the state of which only 6000 seats have been made available for J&K.
“Congress government at the Centre led by Manmohan Singh would allot special quota for J&K, but the BJP government has failed to do so.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelDoes the government need permission from the Nagpur,” Saroori said.
NC legislator Ali Mohammad Sagar said it was a religious issue and government should respond to it.
Another legislator of the NC Mubarak Gul asked Deputy Speaker to direct the minister concerned to respond to the issue and raise issue with the Centre. (KNS)
