Srinagar, Mar 17 (KNS): Incessant rains since the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday continue to lash Valley thereby disrupted the normal life in Kashmir region.
Bringing the mercury down in the region, the higher reaches of the Valley received fresh snowfall while the plains received incessant rains.
The official in Meteorological Department (MeT) told KNS that the tourist resort of Gulmarg and Tangmarg besides the remote areas of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district received fresh snowfall. “Gulmarg, Baba Reshi, Tangmarg and kandi areas of Baramulla are receiving fresh snowfall since the wee hours of Thursday morning,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Predicting more rains in Kashmir, the official in MeT department said that the rains or snow would continue to occur for the next two days in the Kashmir region.
Meanwhile, according to the officials in traffic police department, with the incessant rains since last night in the Kashmir region, the National highway, connecting Valley with rest of the country was closed.
“Almost 600-700 loaded trucks are stranded at various places on the national highway while no vehicles are being allowed to ply from the either sides,” he said. (KNS)
