Srinagar, July 20(KNS): On the International Chess Day, a Chess training and tournament was organised on Monday in Trehgam COB in North Kashmir's Kupwara district for young kids from nearby area.

An official spokesmen told Kashmir news service (KNS), that for many kids it was a new experience altogether as they were taught a new challenging game.

"With covid restrictions not letting children to go out and play, introduction to chess will give them a new way to sharpen their minds and skills, " he said. 

"Few kids showcased exceptional talent in the tournament and can give grandmasters a run for their money in future, " the spokesmen said. 

He also said that the kids got a chance to interact with their brothers in uniform and also enhanced their bond.

Futher the winners were appreciated for their skills and others vowed to improve their game.(KNS).
