Srinagar, Sep 2 (KNS): Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation Junaid Azim Mattu on Friday said that the city is soon going to have its first ever drainage master plan aimed to help revamp its existing drainage network. 

In an exclusive interview with Kashmir News service (KNS), Junaid said that the summer capital Srinagar is going to have its first ever drainage master plan this year which has not been made here for the last forty years. 

He has further said that about 2100 kilometres of roads in city have been transferred to them of which 75% has not been repaired for the last 20 years and the remaining can't be repaired even in a year. 

About smart city, he said that he's having an advisory role in smart city. "However, work is being done in Srinagar,"  adding that the work that even a MLA can't do has been done in Srinagar.

"Some traditional political leaders are involved in illegal encroachments of government land in srinagar city and SMC is committed to remove these encroachments through the legal process," he added. 

He futher appealed to the people of city that they should come forward if they see any illegal activity within Srinagar.
" because there is no scope for corruption here and it's is our agenda that we have to give hope to a hopeless Srinagar citizen."(KNS)
