Srinagar, Dec 23 (KNS): People’s Conference General Secretary Imran Raza Ansari Saturday said that tragic killing of three civilians in Poonch demands collective condemnation and added comprehensive enquiry is essential for ascertaining the facts. He said it is imperative to balance security measures with the protection of human rights.
“The tragic killing of 3 civilians in Poonch district is a grievous incident that demands our collective condemnation. The loss of innocent lives is deeply distressing & we stand in solidarity calling for justice for the victims. The circumstances surrounding their deaths, occurring just hours after being detained by the army, are alarming & warrant a thorough, transparent investigation,” he said on micro-blogging site X.
He said, “The collateral injuries sustained by 7 other detained villagers intensify the gravity of the situation. It's essential that a comprehensive inquiry be conducted to ascertain the facts, & those responsible be held accountable under the law. In the wake of a major terrorist attack on the army, it's imperative to balance security measures with the protection of human rights”.(KNS)
