Illegal mining of Karewas give sleepless nights to Khanda residents in Budgam 

Budgam, July 10 (KNS): During the intervening night of 09- 10 July scores of locals thronged on road as  hundreds of clay-laden tippers ply recklessly from late evening to dawn in Khanda Gowherpora area of District Budgam giving sleepless nights to people .

Local told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that hundreds of clay-laden tippers moving recklessly during night hours, looting the  already exhausted  Karewas of Khanda in Chadoora Budgam.

“Earlier the land grabbers claimed to have got a permission for land mining for 30 tippers which was denied by authorities.” 

They said that they have to spend sleepless nights due to the inaction of administration.

They said that administration had earlier helped in curbing this menace but this time they have been masked by irrationality.

The locals said that the children, women, elderly and sick patients are worst sufferers and appealed administration and police to act.

“A PIL is also filed in the High  court reflecting the helplessness of Govt in curbing land mining.  There have been clear cut directions from High court to district administration Budgam for stemming the land mining of Karewas.” (KNS)
