IGP Kashmir reviews security for I-Day, other events

 Srinagar, Aug 10 (KNS):  Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, V K Birdi on Monday chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) here to assess the overall security scenario and review arrangements for the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations and other events across the valley.

 
The meeting, attended by top officials of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, took stock of the security preparedness for the main function at Bakshi Stadium here and other district headquarters.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
During the meeting, Birdi directed officers to further strengthen security checkpoints, intensify area domination and patrolling, particularly in sensitive and vulnerable locations and along the entry and exit routes of the city. He also stressed on strict vigilance against elements inimical to peace and security.
 
The IGP called for enhanced inter-agency coordination and effective implementation of security protocols to ensure peaceful and orderly conduct of the events. (KNS)
